edinoro narration by Stanislav Mikhailov & Alexey Rumin
---------------------------------------------------------

There once was a land of plenty,
which stretched far and wide

Its King decided to go forth
and discover the remote corners of his realm

He found a mountain,
which was taller and greater
than it seemed at first

The King built himself a castle
from a part of the mountain’s body

Then he travelled on
and discovered a great wood,
which he gave his royal name

And further he rode,
and discovered another wood,
wherein dwelled the Amazons

But then
he was halted by an Evil Wizard,
who turned the King into a stone

---------------------------------------------------------

This stone image of the King
has survived even to our days

He left behind a daughter,
a girl of beauty and skill

For instance,
it was she who made this map

She wanted to complete the castle frescoes,
only one of which was finished by her father

But they were a people lacking in imagination,
and could not portray things they had never seen

So to paint the glory and wealth of her land,
the Princess had to retrace the King’s footsteps

First the Princess travelled to the mountain,
where she found the oracle,
who used to be entrapped in the mountain
back in the times when it was bigger

As a gratitude to the Princess’s father the King
for setting him free,
the oracle presented the Princess
with a newborn unicorn

This event is depicted on the Princesses first fresco.
Unfortunately, it is also the one least well preserved

It is located to the right of the only fresco
the King himself had the time to complete —
the one that shows the royal family’s violet banner

This standard was now reinforced
with a little flag on the castle rooftop,
put there by the Princess
to honour the baby Unicorn

Contrary to what the Oracle told the Princess,
the baby Unicorn never grew in size.
It turned out he was a dwarf pony.
But it was too late to complain,
because the Oracle had left the lands

The sun,
as it was setting down,
told the Princess where to go next

The Keeper of the Wood
refused to bow to her rule

And it was then
that the Pony Unicorn
revealed his power

All your foes are pale with fright,
Pony, Pony! Lead the fight!
Make your enemies beware
Of your dread unblinking stare,

Make regret the very hour
When they saw your knightly power,
For their own unholy sake
Pony, Pony, do them make

Flee the crimson tide of war
As they never did before
Spread around you fear and bring
Vict’ry to the child of King.

Thanks to this peaceful demonstration of force,
the wood was added to the Princesses domain

The Keeper, beeing deeply impressed,
joined the Princess in her quest

This alliance is shown on a magnificent and lively fresco

The Keeper brought with him the knowledge
of the cardinal directions,
which allowed to shed more light on the map

North was opposite the sun

It was an important discovery.
But the Princess needed achievements, not knowledge

In the north,
slightly to the west of the forest of the Amazon,
they discovered the wood of the Fierce Boar

But the Princess was not yet finished

Another great thing
she was about to find
was the Eerie Sea

There in the Sea
was clearly something very important
and mysterious,
Because the coastline was heavily guarded
by enchanted birds
And the Keeper, who led the assault,
was struck down by their catatonic fear attack

The Pony Unicorn returned with an intelligence report

The Keeper could still be saved,
even though he was paralysed

The birds scared everyone,
and themselves were afraid of nothing.
However, their presence along the coastline
was noticeably lower near the Boar’s wood

Fierce Boar possessed a Staff of Power
which added five points to strength.
The birds tried to avoid it

The only thing to match it
was the Sandals of the Amazon,
who dwelt nearby

So the Princess decided to go straight

Sudden attack brought her an admirable victory

With a fatality

Where goes the Princess? What searches for?
For shreds of ancient sacred lore?
Or does the conquest, piece by piece,
Allow her soul to thrive in peace?

Shall not she meet her father’s Doom?
In sullen stone to be entombed,
Perhaps she goes to meet her end
Deep down inside uncharted land…

Did she spring forth from Amazon,
Whose shoes will help her to go on?
Some say so. And while others guess,
The Princess moves and makes progress.

The Fierce Boar, alarmed by the noise,
was ready to stand his ground

However
he was clearly not ready to meet his match

The Boar was still breathing
when the princess took the wooden Staff of Power
from his claws

They laid waste to both Western forests

The exit to the Eerie Sea was bought, but at a dear cost

The Keeper was regained

The Princess awakened him

Tired of bearing two such strong artifacts at once,
she decided to let the Keeper,
whose past career was closely tied to lumber,
take custody of the Staff

And he thereby was upgraded to a Druid

The Princess took careful note of her acquisitions

The Eerie Sea obeyed her

It turned out the timber from the Boar’s Wood
was perfectly suited for shipbuilding
The painting of the Wood was the first
on the West castle wall

While the sandals,
seen here against her father’s flag,
Completed the frescoes on the East wall

Two slots still remained empty

Then the Princess again left the castle
for the Boar Wood,
And they brought in more Wood of Power

To build a shipyard

Where the headquarters moved the same evening

The Eerie Sea was, as always, restless
when the ship set forth
to explore its far reaches and mysteries

Leaving behind their home turf

And soon the ship sailed out of sight

As for those on board, around them,
as far as eye could see,
stretched the waters of the Eerie Sea

After two days of journey they discovered an island

The ship ledger says
that when they entered the harbour
there was a great storm,
and the deck was flooded repeatedly

Having disembarked,
the Princess and the Druid left the Pony
to guard the ship,
and themselves
only relying on the power of their artifacts,
ventured forth into the island

In the middle of the island
they installed the Princess’s banner

The Evil Wizard hurried from his birch grove
to confront them

Well prepared they thought
But they were defeated
utterly

The Pony Unicorn was the last hope

During the farewell supper they served a mass
for the Druid

The Princess showed where she was attacked
by the Evil Wizard

And the Pony Unicorn charged with all his fierceness

And soon returned with a report of a triumphant victory

Which was instantly reflected in the castle paintings

The map was opened now in its entirety

The Father’s fresco gallery was completed

And the Princess asked

if it could always be like that

And it was like that

Always
